CoolForce(TM) technology features unique removable jacket insert for faster rebuilds.

HOUSTON, May 1, 2012: Oil States International, Inc. (NYSE: OIS) announced today that its subsidiary, Oil States Industries, Inc., launched a new series of water-cooled brakes designed for high-horsepower applications including oil and gas, marine, logging and other industrial environments. The new CoolForce(TM) externally cooled disc brake system broadens Oil States' current portfolio of brake and clutch systems, which includes a range of hydraulic, constricting, expanding and caliper brake technologies.

The new CoolForce(TM) design absorbs and disperses thermal loads associated with the most demanding constant-tension applications where high torque absorption, rapid heat dissipation and high-inertia stopping are required.

The series is also the first to offer Oil States' unique removable water jacket insert, which overcomes one of the most time-consuming aspects of field maintenance and rebuilds.

The modular composite design requires no weld repair or re-machining of the interior features of the water jacket. Instead, a worn insert can simply be removed and replaced.

"Removable spacers, custom mountings, a choice of coolant supply configurations and a variety of optional features allow our customers to use these brakes in a broad range of very demanding environments. The removable jacket lining is innovative and removes significant complexity and cost out of field rebuilds."

Oil States will offer water jacket inserts as replacement parts for compatible brakes from other manufacturers to allow faster rebuilds on existing equipment.

CoolForce(TM) brakes will be available in air-actuated and spring-actuated configurations with diameters of up to 36-inch and torque capacities of up to 1.2M in/lb.
